WHAT IS BATTLE SHAPERS?
Reactivated for a final mission, you play as Ada, a spirited android who must rise to reclaim the future of her city, New Elysium, from cunning and sometimes obnoxious Overlords and their swarms of corrupt robots. Wielding an arsenal of futuristic weapons, abilities, and game-changing power cores stolen from the Overlord themselves, you will shoot and smash your way through their trap-ridden towers.
Taking down these ruthless Overlords will prove to be no easy task – as you face them, they will adapt and evolve, changing the challenges of their towers and putting your skills to the ultimate test. Learn to turn their powers against them, discover and master powerful upgrades to bring down the hordes of enemies that overrun the city.
WHO IS MAKING THE GAME?
Co-founded by Nicholas Routhier and Pier-Luc Papineau, two seasoned design directors from Ubisoft who have previously contributed to AAA brands like Prince of Persia, Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, Metric Empire is a game development studio that focuses on creating stylish, innovative and highly-replayable games.
WHO IS THE MAIN CHARACTER? ARE THERE ANY PLANS FOR OTHER PLAYABLE CHARACTERS?
Ada is the singular main character of Battle Shapers and the only planned playable character for the game. She is however exceptionally versatile, and depending on what ‘cores’ she equips, Ada’s suit adapts and alters both her appearance and powers. As she changes, you’ll be able to use and even fuse different playstyle together, offering diverse ways to rediscover the game in both combat and exploration.
WHAT STOREFRONTS CAN I BUY THE GAME FROM?
Battle Shapers will be available on Steam for the duration of its Early Access phase. Ultimately, our desire remains to make the game available to as many players as possible, so it is entirely possible that in time, the game will be available elsewhere.
ARE THERE ANY MICROTRANSACTIONS OR NFTS IN THE GAME?
Nope.
WHAT LANGUAGES WILL THE GAME BE AVAILABLE IN?
At the time the game enters Early Access, it will be playable in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian-Portuguese, Japanese as well as in Traditional and Simplified Chinese.
WHAT ARE THE ACCESSIBILITY OPTIONS FOR THE GAME?
The game offers various accessibility features to improve the gaming experience. These include control remapping, control sensitivity adjustments, field of view customization, subtitle text size options, rumble settings, and more. Please note that the game does not include voiceovers (VOs). We strive to remain open to evaluate and address accessibility considerations in our HUD and UI designs to ensure that our game is as inclusive as possible for all players.

ARE YOU PLANNING TO RELEASE THE GAME ON CONSOLES?
Our current focus is on optimizing Battle Shapers for the PC-Steam platform so as to deliver the best possible gaming experience to our players on this platform. Our ultimate goal is to extend the game’s availability to a broader audience in the future.
HOW LONG WILL THE EARLY ACCESS PERIOD LAST?
We expect the Early Access period to last between 6-12 months, and likely more depending on how the game picks up. This gives us a good runway to expand on the game’s foundational concepts and react to feedback from our community.
HOW WILL THE FULL VERSION DIFFER FROM THE EARLY ACCESS VERSION?
With regular patches and content updates, we will continue refining Battle Shapers’ core combat mechanics and progression systems, all the while expanding the game’s content variety with brand new biomes, weapons, upgrades, and foes to fight. One of our principal goals within Early Access is to unveil the final boss of the game, located within its own brand new level, and thus allowing players to finally beat the game and unlock additional post-game challenges and levels. We will be sharing more details about these additions, as well as any other features as the development progresses.
DOES THE GAME HAVE CONTROLLER SUPPORT?
The game offers full controller support.
CAN I CARRY MY SAVE/PROGRESSION FORWARD THROUGH UPDATES AND FROM EARLY ACCESS TO FULL LAUNCH?
The game will fully support Cloud Saves on Steam and our goal is that player progress and save data will seamlessly transfer from each Early Access update to the final 1.0 launch.
ARE THERE ANY PLANS FOR CO-OP/MULTIPLAYER?
Battle Shapers is designed as an exclusive single-player PVE experience. There are no plans to include multiplayer features in the game.
IS THERE ANY TWITCH FUNCTIONALITY IN THE GAME FOR STREAMERS?
The game does not include Twitch integration.
HOW WILL YOU INCLUDE THE COMMUNITY IN THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS?
Our development team will work closely with the community by actively listening to and considering feedback and suggestions to help Battle Shapers live up to its full potential. To that end, we will be providing a number of ways for players to share their feedback to the team via the game’s newsletter, Discord server and Steam page.
